About Master Chess Multiplayer

Master Chess Multiplayer brings the familiar chessboard to your browser, with options to face the computer or other players online. You move pieces by selecting one and choosing a destination square. The goal is checkmate: threaten the opposing king so that it has no legal escape, while keeping your own king safe.

Before moving, look for what your opponent threatens as well as what you can attack. Developing pieces toward useful squares is usually more valuable than moving the same piece repeatedly without a plan. After an exchange, check which lines have opened for bishops, rooks and queens. The simple selection controls let you concentrate on these board decisions whether you are using a mouse or a touch screen.

How to play

  • Choose an available computer or online opponent.
  • Click or tap the piece you want to move.
  • Select a legal destination square on the board.
  • Protect your king and build threats toward checkmate.
