Privacy Policy for SKALDA
Last Updated: 2025-12-24
Your privacy is our priority
This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand how SKALDA handles information when you use our ecosystem of browser-based creative tools.
We've built our tools with privacy at their core. They run in your browser, with no user accounts, no tracking cookies, and minimal external data exposure.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the tools in the SKALDA ecosystem (including units.skalda.io, solveo.skalda.io, scribe.skalda.io, flint.skalda.io, clip.skalda.io, pixel.skalda.io, scout.skalda.io, dev.skalda.io).
SKALDA tools are designed to function client-side, meaning your files and data stay in your browser. We do not require user accounts and do not store your personal data on our servers.
2. Data We DO NOT Collect
SKALDA does not collect any of the following information:
- Personal identification information (e.g., names, emails, login credentials)
- Files or content you upload or process using our tools (handled locally in your browser)
- Your IP address for tracking purposes
- Your on-site browsing history
3. Data We Collect (Very Limited)
To offer the best possible experience we store a minimal set of data:
- Browser-stored settings (dark mode, language) using
localStorage– stored on your device only - Feedback form submissions (only the content you provide and optionally your email if you request a response)
- Security protection logs via Cloudflare (anonymised request metadata such as browser type, referring site, and timestamp)
4. How We Use Your Data
Any limited data collected is used solely to:
- Apply your interface preferences across sessions
- Respond to feedback or enquiries you submit
- Protect our services from abuse and spam via Cloudflare
5. Data Sharing & Third Parties
SKALDA does not use any third-party ad networks or analytics tools at this time.
We do use Cloudflare to protect our infrastructure against DDoS attacks, spam, and bots. Cloudflare may process technical request data to deliver this service. Their privacy policy is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
In the future SKALDA may use services like Google AdSense to display advertisements. When that occurs we will update this policy and request your consent via a cookie banner before any advertising-related data is processed.
We do not sell, rent, or share any personal data - because we don't collect it in the first place.
6. International Data Transfers
Because most processing happens locally in your browser, your personal data generally remains on your device. However, data processed by our infrastructure provider, Cloudflare, may be transferred to servers in other countries. Cloudflare complies with applicable data-transfer frameworks to ensure your data is protected.
7. Data Security
We implement strong technical safeguards to protect our services:
- All data processing for our tools occurs in your browser; no files or personal data are uploaded to our servers
- All SKALDA websites are secured via HTTPS
- We utilise bot and abuse protection via Cloudflare
8. Data Retention
SKALDA does not retain personal data from its tools. Interface settings are stored in your browser and can be cleared at any time. Feedback messages are retained only as long as necessary to review and respond to your enquiry.
9. Children’s Privacy
SKALDA services are not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the relevant age of consent in your jurisdiction, which may be up to 16). We do not knowingly collect any personal information. Children may use the tools safely without providing any identifying data.
10. Cookies & Local Storage
SKALDA uses functional cookies and localStorage strictly to:
- Save UI preferences (e.g., dark mode, language)
- Remember your interface configurations across visits
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may notify you via changelog notes or a site banner if the changes are significant.
12. Contact Information
For any inquiries or concerns, please visit our Feedback Page. If required for access or deletion requests, we may ask for verification of identity before responding.
